Humorous inspirational speaker Marti MacGibbon is Keynoter at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Conference (APNA-KY) in Louisville, Kentucky. Marti is a speaker like no other. She has overcome and healed from adversities such as being trafficked to Tokyo and held prisoner by organized crime figures, domestic violence, PTSD, homelessness and hard-core drug addiction. Ms. MacGibbon is an advocate for victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, and champions those who suffer from mental illness and addiction. She is an expert on trauma resolution and resiliency, and holds five professional certifications in addiction treatment. Marti is also funny: she has traveled the U.S. as a professional standup comic, and has performed at the world-famous Comedy Store and the Improv in Hollywood. Her funny and dramatic memoir, “Never Give in to Fear: Laughing All the Way Up from Rock Bottom,” has earned critical acclaim from Kirkus Reviews, Midwest Book Review, and others, and won recognition from the National Indie Excellence Awards.
